About this resource
Telling a good choice from a choice that is not good is a skill children practice one scenario at a time. This is a short, low-prep kit for it: read a scenario, circle the better choice, cut and glue a two-way sort, say what happens next, and write your own. Every scenario is a plain sentence, so there is nothing to decode but the words.
EVERYTHING INSIDE (15 pages)
- 8 student pages in 4 formats: 3 Circle the Better Choice pages (5 scenarios each), 2 Cut and Glue Sort pages, 2 What Happens Next pages and 1 Write Your Own page
- 15 scenarios to circle, each with one clearly better choice, and the correct letter moves around so it is never the same slot three times in a row
- 16 easy-cut choice pieces on 2 sort pages (8 a page), glued into Paste 1: Good choice or Paste 2: Not a good choice
- 8 What Happens Next sentences with a word bank, and 2 spaces where the child writes a scenario of their own
- 1 anchor chart with three questions to ask about any choice, 1 answer key and 1 tracker
- Start Here page with a "which page, when" chooser
The Four Formats
1. Circle the Better Choice (starting) — read the scenario, then circle A or B.
2. Cut and Glue Sort (building) — 8 pieces a page, in 4 columns and 2 rows, touching edge to edge so the cutting is a few straight lines. The glue boxes are big enough to hold the pieces.
3. What Happens Next (ready for more) — a four-word bank plus one word that is not used; finish each sentence about what happens after a good choice.
4. Write Your Own (ready for more) — two scenarios the child invents, with a good choice and a choice that is not good.
Built For The Child Holding The Page
A big "My name" line, one short instruction, large rounded letters, real room to write and circle, and dots (not words) to show which level a page is. Type only: no clip art.
Every Scenario Is Invented
Every scenario is generic classroom prose ("You ...") — never a real child, never a diagnosis, never a claim about anyone's behavior. This is a classroom practice set. It is not a behavior plan, a screener or a clinical tool.
Type In, Or Print
The name and date lines and the tracker are type-in fields in any PDF reader. The answers a student circles, writes or glues are pencil work. This is a fillable PDF; it is not a Google Slides or PowerPoint file.
Who This Is For
Kindergarten, first and second grade classrooms, self-contained and resource rooms, and any teacher running a character-education or morning-meeting routine.
