About this resource
Most case managers carry the IEP year's sequence in their head: what has to happen before a meeting, what happens at it, and what still has to happen after — and the list only surfaces when something slips. This is that sequence on paper: three phases in full (before the meeting, at the meeting, after the meeting), a condensed one-page version to keep at your desk, a master checklist for one student with a status roll-up, a short version for a related service provider or general education teacher's own part, a team hand-off note, a phrase bank for writing a specific status update, and a filled, invented example tying it together. Every "by when" is a blank line — your district's own rule goes there, never a printed deadline. Fillable PDF — type it or print it.
WHAT IS INCLUDED — 17 pages, 133 type-in fields
See The Full Sequence
- Binder Cover and Divider Tabs — fill in once, slide into a binder cover sleeve, with an index for three divider tabs and a map of where every section lives
- Before the Meeting / At the Meeting / After the Meeting — three full phase pages, 34 steps total (13, 10, and 11 per phase), each step with its own blank "by when" line and Done box, plus two before-and-after examples per phase turning a step name into a specific line
Track It, Share It, Report It
- The One-Page Process Card — a condensed version of all three phases, six steps each, on one page to tape up
- Master Process Checklist for One Student — one page, filled in once per student, with a status roll-up table (target date, actual date, notes) for each phase
- Quick Checklist for a Related Service Provider or General Education Teacher — a short, deliberately incomplete checklist naming only the steps that involve that one adult
- Team Hand-off and Status Update — what's done, what's still ahead and who owns it, and a place for questions, ready to send to the team or the family
- Turning a Step Into a Status Note — an 18-phrase bank (three phases, six starters each), every phrase a sentence you finish, never a conclusion
- Filled In, for One Invented Student — Dani R. (invented), the same condensed six-step-per-phase list marked Done / In Progress / Not Yet, with a status roll-up that matches it phase by phase
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF. Open it in a PDF reader, click a box or line, and type; it works offline with no account or subscription and prints the same way it looks on screen. It is NOT a Google Sheets file, a Google Doc, or an Excel workbook, and it does not add anything up for you.
It is not a legal document. The order shown is the common practice order many teams use, not a legally required sequence, and there is no printed day-count or deadline anywhere in this file — every "by when" is a blank line for your own district's rule. No eligibility criteria, no ages, no diagnoses anywhere. No health data is pre-filled; the example student is invented and says so on the page.
Who This Is For
Case managers who want one working sequence for the IEP year instead of carrying it in their head, plus related service providers and general education teachers who need to know their own small part without the whole file.
