About this resource
Kindness is my superpower. A student draws their own kindness hero, picks a way to be kind, wears a power badge, and colors a star on a cape for every kind act. This is a set of cut-out "My Kindness Superpower" badges, "I can be kind by..." choice cards and a kind-act tracker for kindergarten through 3rd grade, with the log that writes down what happened, so kindness does not stay a nice idea on a bulletin board.
EVERYTHING INSIDE — 24 pages
- My Kindness Hero: the student draws a face, colors a cape and draws an emblem, then writes a hero name and a superpower
- 8 cut-out power badges in full color, cut apart 4 across and 2 down: Sharing Power, Helping Power, Thankful Power, Including Power, Smiling Power, Listening Power, Cheering Power and Clean-Up Power, each with a picture and lines for "Awarded to" and "Because I"
- The same 8 badges in black-and-white ink-saver
- A cape with 12 stars to color, one for each kind act
- 12 "I can be kind by..." choice cards in full color, cut apart 4 across and 3 down so each cut is one straight line: share, help, hold door, say thanks, invite, listen, smile, clean up, cheer, compliment, wait and kind note, each with a picture, a word and a short line
- The same 12 choice cards in black-and-white ink-saver
- A plan page: 3 boxes (morning, recess, afternoon), each sized to hold one cut card, with a star to color when it is done
- A five-day kindness tracker, 6 stars a day, with a line for the kind act
- A how-to page
- A Kind Acts Log (20 rows: date, where, card word, did it yes or no, initials)
- A weekly roll-up (8 weeks) with a percent graph
- A filled example: an invented student, one week on the log, three weeks on the roll-up and the cards counted across all three
- A family page with six small kind-act cards to cut apart and a note home
- A hand-off page so a paraprofessional or another classroom uses the badges the same way
- A phrase bank: 23 lines in 6 groups (spoken lines for the cards and badges, written starters for the log, the roll-up and the note home)
- A storage and binder label sheet: 12 labels and a spine strip
- Start Here, a contents page with page thumbnails, section dividers and a "what's next" back page
How It Works
The student picks one "I can be kind by..." card for the day and glues it in a box on the plan page. When the student does it, they color a star on the plan page, on the cape or on the five-day tracker, and you give the badge for that kind act. Every card is a kind act, so there is nothing to sort and nothing to get wrong. Student pages carry only a name line, one short instruction with a picture, and big shapes and words.
The Hero Is The Student'S Own
The kindness hero is a face, a cape and an emblem the student draws. Nothing in this file is a character, a logo or a franchise.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF: type into the name lines, the log, the roll-up, the family page, the hand-off page and the badge lines, or print and use a pen. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable online slideshow or word-processor document.
Who This Is For
Teachers of kindergarten through 3rd grade, special education teachers and paraprofessionals, counselors, case managers who need it to show up as data, and the families who get the home page.
