About this resource

A Meet the Teacher template that is actually a full beginning-of-year system, not one letter reused twice. A full welcome letter for a classroom website, a printed handout, or back-to-school night; a genuinely shorter postcard version to mail or hand out at drop-off; and a Meet the Para/Support Staff companion for a second adult in the room. Set five welcome-letter sections once, write from the blurb starters, and this is two-way, not just outbound: a family-input slip comes home and back before the first day, a response log tracks every slip, and a contact-preferences roll-up turns the returns into one page.

What This Is, And What It Is Not

It is a fillable PDF. Open it in a PDF reader, click a line or a box, type, press Tab to move on, and Save As once per version. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT a Google Sheets file, a Google Doc or an Excel workbook, and it does not post a welcome letter to a website or total the response log automatically.

It is a general classroom-communication tool, not a per-student log and not a behavior or data-collection product — it carries no ratings, no points, and no student-specific record of any kind, and it never names a clinical finding or an eligibility decision. The family-input slip asks for general, non-medical information only. Any example classroom shown is invented and says so on the page.

Who This Is For

Special education and general education teachers writing a beginning-of-year welcome letter, teams with a paraprofessional or related-service provider who also wants to introduce themselves, and any classroom that wants to hear back from families before the first day instead of only sending information out.
