About this resource

The eight words still open on the prepositions / spatial concepts shelf. Prepositions of Motion

Picture Cards (sold separately) covers through, over, across, around; Positional Concepts Picture

Cards and Picture Cards 2 (sold separately) cover in, on, under, behind, next to, above, below,

between, in front of. This deck covers beside, near, far, outside, along, past, toward and away: a

small creature (an ant, a beetle, a worm or a cricket) shown with a landmark (a brick wall, a

mountain, a bridge, an oil drum, a barber pole, a ring buoy), one scene per word, with a

directional arrow drawn right on the scene for the four direction words.

preposition printed underneath in large type. They sit edge to edge on one page, so 4 straight

cuts free the whole deck. Beside: an ant touching a brick wall. Near: a beetle a short gap from a

mountain. Far: a worm a clearly bigger gap from a bridge. Outside: a cricket standing clear of a

solid boundary line drawn around an oil drum. Along: a beetle on top of a three-brick-wide wall,

an arrow pointing along it. Past: a worm just beyond a mountain, an arrow continuing on. Toward:

an ant approaching a barber pole, an arrow pointing at it. Away: a cricket already a distance

from a ring buoy, an arrow pointing further away.

(cricket, "the insect, not the sport"; ring buoy, "life ring"; oil drum, "barrel"; brick wall,

"wall"; barber pole, "pole") so the scoring rule is decided once, before the first probe

Positional Concepts deck draws next to — a close synonym, score either word correct if your team

treats them that way; outside is the only scene in this deck's own line that draws a boundary

line instead of two pictures only; toward and away are drawn as a matched pair (same layout, a

smaller or larger gap and the arrow pointing at or away from the landmark)

What This Is, And What It Is Not

It is a fillable PDF: type into the log, graph, caseload page, family page, and probe-form headers,

or print and use a pen. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable

online slideshow or word-processor document, and it is not a norm-referenced or standardized test.

It carries no elicitation, cueing or modeling script. It does not decide what counts as a correct

preposition word, a criterion, or a typical rate for prepositions of place — every one of those is

this clinician's own call, written once and reused every session. Pictures replace the objects and

the distance or path a clinician would otherwise have to arrange or draw by hand; they do not

replace the clinician's scoring rule.
