About this resource
A new picture-card deck for a grammar target this store did not carry yet: reflexive pronouns, where the action comes back onto the subject (“he washes himself,” not “he washes him”). Each card puts a figure, a pair of figures, an animal, or a drawn hand beside its own mirror, with the pronoun printed under the picture: himself, herself, myself, yourself, themselves, ourselves, itself. Seven cards, in color and again in ink-saver black and white.
WHAT IS INCLUDED — 19 pages, 290 type-in fields
Picture Cards
- 7 picture cards in full color, cut apart along dashed lines: 4 Figure cards (a boy beside a mirror for “himself,” a girl beside a mirror for “herself,” a dog beside a mirror for “itself,” a boy and a girl beside one mirror for “themselves”) and 3 Hand cards (the same pointing-hand convention as our Possessive Pronouns Picture Cards 2, now beside a mirror: a hand pointing down for “myself,” a hand pointing at the viewer for “yourself,” a hand pointing up beside two mirrors for “ourselves”)
- The same 7 cards again as an ink-saver set in pure black outlines, for the photocopier
- A note printed on both card pages naming the pictures a child may call another way (naming the figure or the mirror alone, or a count instead of the word on the two-icon cards: itself/dog or puppy, themselves/two kids, ourselves/two mirrors) — the hand is a cue, not a picture of the speaker or listener, and the note says so
Probe And Track
- 2 quick probe forms: Form A is the 4 Figure cards, Form B is the 3 Hand cards, untimed, each marked correct / error / approximation, with a line for what was actually said. Together they are the whole 7-card bank with no overlap
- Full-Deck Probe: all 7 cards on one sheet, each with its own mark and verbatim line, plus a total for each bin and an overall total
- Data Log: 17 rows (date, form, correct, out of, percent, notes)
- Percent Graph: 14 probes across, 0-100 percent grid, a field for the team's own criterion
- Caseload Summary: 16 rows (student, bins practiced, baseline, current, trend, decision)
Share And Write
- Practice at Home: a family update with three of the same pictures used in session (himself, yourself, itself), a weekly practice table, and lines for phrases a family heard outside of practice time
- Phrase Bank: 19 observable-language starters across 5 groups (accuracy, what was said, carryover, the log and graph, the caseload page)
- Filled Example: an invented student, eight probes, every percent re-counted from its own row
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF: type into the log, graph, caseload page, family page and probe-form headers, or print and use a pen. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable online slideshow or word-processor document, and it is not a norm-referenced or standardized test.
It carries no elicitation, cueing or modeling script. It does not decide what counts as a correct response, a criterion, or a typical rate; every one of those is this clinician's own call, written once and reused every session. The pictures replace the printed word list a child cannot yet read. They do not replace the clinician's scoring rule.
Who This Is For
Speech-language pathologists and special education teams with young or pre-reading students working on reflexive pronouns or early morphosyntax, and the families who get the practice page sent home. Pairs with Possessive Pronouns Picture Cards 2 (the same pointing-hand convention) and Personal Pronoun Picture Cards for a fuller pronoun shelf.
