About this resource

A student who can copy a sentence but freezes in front of a blank line and a picture needs a bridge

between the two, not a jump. This pack is that bridge: the same twelve pictures, at three levels of

support, so a trace-only student and a write-from-nothing student can work at the same table on the same

picture and nobody's page looks like the easy one.

How The Three Levels Work

Level 1 (Trace It) — a complete, correct sentence about the picture is already written. The student

traces it twice, then writes it once more starting from a one-word hint. Nothing is invented yet; the

sentence is already right.

Level 2 (Build It) — the same sentence, with the describing word blanked out. The student chooses a word

from a four-word bank, writes it into the blank, then copies the whole finished sentence onto the lines

below.

Level 3 (Write It) — only the picture and its name are given. A word bank is offered as an optional

scaffold; the student writes one sentence with no model at all.

The level is never printed as a word: a row of dots on the name line is the only code, and every student

page shares one banner color, checked on the rendered pixels, not just in the design file.

Twelve Pictures, Four Sections

1. Animals We See — dog, cat, bird (describing words: big, small, soft, fast)

2. Sky and Weather — sun, rain, moon (bright, wet, warm, quiet)

3. Toys We Play With — ball, kite, balloon (round, colorful, fun, light)

4. Things That Go — car, boat, bike (fast, big, red, loud)

Every picture is drawn in Microsoft Fluent Emoji's High Contrast set (heavy black line art, licensed

MIT) so the pages photocopy cleanly and match across the whole file — no picture is a colour illustration

sitting beside a black-and-white one.

What Is In The File

Who This Is For

Self-contained, resource, and any K-2 room with a student who needs to move from tracing toward

independent sentence writing without a jump in between. The three levels work as a whole-group

differentiation tool: hand out the same picture at three different levels and run one lesson.

What This Is, And What It Is Not

A print, trace and write worksheet packet with fillable record-keeping around it: the 36 tracing and

writing sheets stay pencil-and-paper on purpose (a typed field has no job on a page whose task is

handwriting), but the name/date line on every sheet, the whole-caseload progress tracker and the

family note are real type-in AcroForm fields — print it, or fill the record-keeping on screen. It is

not Google Slides, Docs or PowerPoint. It makes no age, grade-readiness or diagnostic claim; the

district's own mastery rule gets a blank line to write it on, on the progress tracker page.
