About this resource
WHAT IS INCLUDED (25 pages in the PDF)
- 3 stop sign messages in 3 sizes: Area Closed, Wait, and Stop and Think. Each comes as a full-page poster, a half-page poster (two to a page, one cut across the middle) and a small card.
- 40 pieces to cut per printing (color or ink-saver), set edge to edge so each cut is one straight line: 12 small stop sign cards, 8 cue cards (4 Hands to Self and 4 Ask First), 6 door hanger sides (3 STOP, 3 GO, to glue back to back), 8 desk cue strips (4 Stop, Think, Choose and 4 Hands to self, Ask first, Wait, each with a name line) and 6 half-page posters. The small cards and cue cards are in the PDF twice, in color and in ink-saver, so print the version you want.
- 2 student self-check pages: stop, think, choose. One to circle (I stopped, I thought, I chose, with Yes and Not yet) and one to draw and write.
- Teacher pages: Start Here with a which-page-when table, how to set up the signs (with a plan table for your own places and a blank for your school's own steps), how to use it in 5 short routines, a cue tally, a filled example (an invented class and an invented child), a home note, a phrase bank of 20 starters in 5 groups, and a binder cover with spine and 4 tabs.
- Terms of use and a thank-you page.
How To Use It
Hang a poster where the sign applies. Put a small Area Closed card on a center that is not open, and hang the door hanger on the knob. Hold up a Hands to Self or Ask First card without a word. Children check themselves on a stop, think, choose page, you count on the tally, and the home note tells families which sign you are practicing.
Built For The Child Holding The Page
Every student page has a big "My name" line, one short direction with a picture, and room to circle, draw or write. Pictures are friendly and simple. The small cards and cue cards come in a color set and an ink-saver set, and everything reads in black and white too.
Type In, Or Print
The name lines, the room lines on the door hangers, the name lines on the desk strips, the plan table, the cue tally, the home note and every notes area are type-in fields in any PDF reader. The posters and cards are print pages. You can also print any page and write by hand. Print at 100 percent with fit-to-page turned off. This is a fillable PDF; it is not a Google Slides or PowerPoint file.
Who This Is For
PreK to 5th grade classrooms, self-contained and resource rooms, and anyone who wants calm, picture-based reminders for waiting, closed areas and keeping hands to self.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
Classroom posters and working paper. It is not a curriculum, a therapy program or a behavior plan, and it makes no health claims. A sign is a calm reminder, not a consequence. Your school decides its own rules and next steps; the setup page gives you a blank to write them in your school's words.
