About this resource
EVERYTHING INSIDE — 22 pages, 259 type-in fields
- A Weather-to-Clothing Chart: all 5 weather words (Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy, Snowy, Stormy) each paired with a reasoned clothing suggestion, built from the 6 clothing cards this file sells
- 6 concrete clothing choice cards (Coat, Boots, Gloves, Sunglasses, Umbrella, Scarf), each with a real picture a student can match to a clothing word
- A Weather-Appropriate Clothing Choice Board: a printed weather reference strip to circle today's weather, plus a CHOICES panel and a MY CHOICE slot, with a 3-row quick-practice table
- Two Desk-Size Clothing Choice Boards on one page, for a folder or several students
- Every clothing card printed twice — a full-color set and a black-and-white ink-saver set
- An "at a glance" table naming what each clothing card offers
- 12 blank clothing cards with a type-in word line, to build any clothing choice the printed set does not cover (a hat, a raincoat, sandals)
- A how-to page: what to teach before the first day, the three steps every time, picking which cards to offer, and what to do when more than one choice makes sense
- A Clothing Choice Log (18 rows: one row per choice offered — weather, choices offered, clothing chosen, whether it matched the chart)
- A Weekly Roll-Up (8 weeks) with a graph, showing the percent of choices that matched the chart and the most-chosen clothing card
- A filled example — an invented student, one week of logs and three weeks on the roll-up, every number re-counted from its own row
- A family page with a small take-home clothing card set and a week of home practice tracking
- A hand-off page so another adult or a different room uses the same clothing choice board the same way
- A phrase bank: 21 lines in 7 groups (spoken words for the board, written starters for the log, the roll-up and the note home)
- A storage and binder label sheet
- Start Here, a contents page with page thumbnails, and a "what's next" back page
Most clothing or weather activities on this shelf are a single worksheet with no reasoning task behind them. This one gives a student a reason to pick: today's weather is shown, then the student chooses the clothing card that makes sense for it, with a chart to teach from, a log and a weekly roll-up behind it — so a case manager has real data on a reasoning skill, not just a completed worksheet.
The Weather Reference, And Why It Is Not A Second Set Of Cut-Apart Cards
This file reuses the same five weather words and pictures already sold in Daily Weather and Calendar Visual Board Editable (Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy, Snowy, Stormy) as a printed reference strip on the board and the chart page — never resold here as a second set of cut-apart cards. A student circles the weather on the printed strip, or places that other product's own weather card in the same spot if they own it; either way, this file's own clothing cards are what gets cut apart, chosen and logged.
The Six Clothing Cards And Their Pictures
- Coat — keeps your whole body warm
- Boots — keeps your feet dry or warm (a hiking-boot picture; neither art set has a separate snow-boot or rain-boot picture, disclosed on the card page)
- Gloves — keeps your hands warm
- Sunglasses — keeps the sun out of your eyes
- Umbrella — keeps the rain off you
- Scarf — keeps your neck warm
Every clothing word has a concrete picture. Five of the six pictures are the exact convention already used elsewhere in this collection (Coat, Boots, Gloves and Scarf from Getting Ready for Outside; Sunglasses from the Calm-Down Corner cards); Umbrella is new to this file and was checked at card size in both the color and ink-saver art sets before use.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF: type into the board, the log, the roll-up, the family page, the hand-off page and the blank clothing cards, or print and use a pen. The chart and card pages print on cardstock or plain paper; the cards cut along dashed lines. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable online slideshow or word-processor document.
It is a way to practice reasoning from a weather word to a clothing choice, using a chart that suggests one pairing per weather as a starting point, never a single fixed right answer — more than one clothing choice can make sense for a given weather, and the file says so on the chart and how-to pages. It is not a weather forecast tool, a science lesson, or a district rule about when a coat is required — that stays a blank line for the family's or district's own wording. It names no clinical finding. It carries no prompt hierarchy, fading schedule or mastery rule, and it promises no outcome.
Who This Is For
Special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, paraprofessionals and case managers working on weather-and-clothing reasoning and daily-living skills, students learning to connect an outside condition to a practical choice, and the families who get the home page sent home.
