Listen, find the word, cover it, get 4 in a row. Or roll a die and race along a path, reading each word you land on. Sight Word Games is a kit of two games for kindergarten and first grade: eight Bingo boards, 96 calling cards to cut out, two Roll and Read paths for two players, a rules page, blank boards and a game record. The words are 96 of the 100 Fry first-hundred words, and there are no pictures to guess from. Every student page has a big "My name" line, one short instruction, and big words in boxes a small hand can cover. Untimed: no clock, no score on the child's page.

EVERYTHING INSIDE (35 pages: 20 student pages, 15 for you)

• 8 Bingo boards, each a 4 x 4 grid of 16 words (128 word squares): Set 1 to Set 6 hold 16 words each, and Mixed 1 and Mixed 2 draw words from all six sets
• 2 Roll and Read paths for two players, 20 squares each: START, 18 words, FINISH (36 word squares), plus 1 blank path
• 1 blank Bingo board to write your own 16 words, and a strip showing the three ways to get 4 in a row
• 96 calling cards to cut, 16 to a page, one page for each of the 6 sets, plus a page of 16 blank cards. Cards sit edge to edge, so cutting is three straight cuts each way
• My Games: a game record the child fills in, with a star to color for BINGO
• A rules and ways-to-play page (6 ways), 2 check pages that list every board, every path and every word by set, a tracker, a class grid, a team note, a family page, a filled example (an invented student), a phrase bank (17 starters), a binder cover and 6 divider tabs with a spine label

Built For The Child, Not The Office

Every student page has a big "My name" line, one short instruction with a picture (an ear, a die, scissors or a pencil), and big words in the rounded font. Each cutting page is one grid of 16 cards, every card about 1.9 by 1.4 inches. Everything for you (rules, check pages, tracking) is on separate teacher pages.

Three Levels, Marked By Dots

One dot: a Set board, one set of 16 words. Two dots: a Mixed board or a Roll and Read path. Three dots: the blank pages, for your own words. The dots are the only level code, so children at one table are not comparing papers.

Every Board And Card Is Checked

Every board has its own set of words, every called word is on at least one board, and every word on a board has a calling card. The check pages print each board and path exactly as laid out, so you can check a BINGO in seconds.

Type In, Or Print

The name and date lines, the blank pages, the game record, the tracker, class grid, team note and family page are type-in fields in any PDF reader; the boards, paths and cards are always printed. Every page also prints clean in black and white. This is a fillable PDF; it is not a Google Slides, Google Docs or PowerPoint file.

What This Is, And What It Is Not

Two games for practicing reading sight words, with the record-keeping around it. It is not a timed fluency probe or a goal page, not a full reading curriculum, and not a claim about any student's age, grade level or rate of progress. The words are 96 of the 100 words on the Fry first-hundred list, in list order; the last four are left out so every set holds exactly 16.
