About this resource
EVERYTHING INSIDE — 16 pages
- 24 reward tickets in full color, 12 to a page, each with a picture, a reward a child can read (Sit by a friend, Pick a read-aloud book, Choose the music) and a name line you can type on
- 8 "I had a great day with a sub!" tickets for the sub to hand out, with name, sub and date lines
- 12 blank tickets: type your own reward on each before you print
- A note to the teacher the sub fills in: what we did, where we stopped, great helpers, students who needed a reminder, absent students, anything to know
- A helper and reminder report: 14 student rows with Great helper, Needed a reminder and What I saw, and a blank line for your class's own rule
- 8 Think-It-Over slips: what happened, and what I will do next time
- A ticket tally: 14 student rows by Monday to Friday with a Total, and a class goal
- A student page, My Day With a Sub: circle a face, write something good, draw the day and thank the sub
- A phrase bank of 32 starters in 8 groups, for thank-yous, sub notes, reminders, slips and tickets
- A filled example: five invented students, one week, every total re-added from its own row
- Start Here, a contents page with page thumbnails, and a "what's next" back page
All the cut pages are edge to edge: tickets are 12 to a page (two cuts down, three across), sub-day tickets 8 to a page, slips 8 to a page, so there are no tiny scraps. Print on cardstock.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF: type into the tickets, note, report and tally, or print and use a pen. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT a Google Slides, Google Docs or PowerPoint file, and you cannot drag the boxes around or restyle the pages.
It is a working paper for a sub day. It does not say what a ticket is worth, what a reminder leads to or what happens after a slip. That is your classroom's routine, and your rule gets a blank line on the report. The slips ask a child to think and plan; they are not a behavior plan or a grade. The example students and the sub are invented and say so on the page.
Who This Is For
Kindergarten through 5th grade classroom teachers who leave a sub plan, substitutes who walk in cold, and paraprofessionals who help on sub days.
